See EPCOT’s NEW CommuniCore Hall Lit Up AT NIGHT!

It’s hard to believe, but EPCOT’s multi-year massive transformation is almost complete.

The final part of the transformation (save the concepts that ended up seemingly being abandoned) is CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, with both set to finally open on June 10th. Ahead of that opening, though, we recently spotted something new at CommuniCore Hall.

When we visited EPCOT last night, we noticed something NEW lighting up the park. Yes, we noticed that CommuniCore Hall was all lit up — and it’s looking great. We really like how this lighting complements the lighting on Spaceship Earth at night.

Here’s a closer look at the pretty new lighting.

CommuniCore Hall is an indoor space that will be the first “fully purpose-built structure in festival programming.” It will be home to an exhibition and gallery space that can host food experiences, art, exhibits, etc. It also has a demonstration kitchen and mixology bar, which makes us think that demonstrations and seminars with celebrity chefs will return with this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.

CommuniCore Hall will also host a new character meet and greet called Mickey and Friends. We’re assuming that means Mickey and Minnie will be moved from the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival area, where they currently meet people in EPCOT, to this new space when it opens.

CommuniCore Plaza will be an outdoor area that can host big concerts or more intimate performances. When it opens, a new Encanto-themed singalong show, ¡Celebración Encanto!, will take center stage from June 10th through September 6th.
