WARNING: 2 Disney World Parks Are Closing EARLY Today

There’s one small thing you need to check before your Disney World trip that can have a HUGE impact!

That’s right, we’re talking about checking the online calendar! The calendar on the Disney World website will tell you the park hours, the ongoing attraction refurbishments, and the entertainment schedule for the fireworks and nighttime shows. It’s essential to look at the calendar before your visit so you’re not blindsided by a scheduling problem. And if you didn’t take a look at the calendar before going to Hollywood Studios today…you might be in for a shock!

From August through December, it’s common for Magic Kingdom to close early at 6PM on select dates in order for the park to host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. But on rare occasions, we’ve seen the other three theme parks close early as well.

Today, Tuesday, October 17th, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is set to close early at 5PM. In the past when we’ve seen early closures like this, they’re usually due to a private event. Disney hasn’t confirmed the reasoning behind the early closure today.

Note that if you’re visiting the park today, Fantasmic and Wonderful World of Animation will not be showing as usual, since both those shows happen after dark. You’ll still be able to enjoy the daytime entertainment.

In addition to Hollywood Studios closing at 5PM, Magic Kingdom will close at 6PM for the Halloween party. And Animal Kingdom is set to close at 7PM tonight. So it looks like those who want to stay out after dark will need to head to EPCOT, which closes at 9PM.
