Disney Just Made a TON of Announcements…But What Is ACTUALLY Confirmed?!

Disney sure knows how to get people talking.

Magic Kingdom

At Destination D23, we heard a ton of announcements about new and upcoming projects from Disney Cruise Line, international Disney parks, Disneyland, and of course — Disney World. But, out of all the news, what has actually been confirmed? Let’s dive in and find out.

Magic Kingdom

Pirates-themed Tavern

Disney has teased a potential Magic Kingdom expansion, including the possibility of there being “a lot of room to play around with” near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. But, this hasn’t officially been confirmed. What has been announced, though, is a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern is coming to Adventureland.

Disney shared that this will be a place where “pirates of all ages gather to tell their tales,” and will even feature the Barker Bird. We’re not sure where it might be built, but Tortuga Tavern is awfully close to Pirates and is already a tavern. We’ll have to wait and see!

Hatbox Ghost

We knew that the Hatbox Ghost would be coming to Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom ever since Disney announced it at the D23 Expo last year — we just didn’t know exactly when.

But, at Destination D23 Disney announced that the Hatbox Ghost would be materializing in Magic Kingdom in late November of this year.

Country Bears Update

Also in Magic Kingdom, The Country Bear Jamboree will be getting an update. Disney shared that The Country Bears will be learning some new songs and performing a COMPLETELY new act.

Not only that, but the new show takes inspiration from classic Nashville variety shows. Disney even involved Nashville musicians to make the new arrangements for the songs. Disney Imagineer Chris Beatty said, “The music is going to be amazing, and the show will still have the fun and friendly tone that we all love about the Country Bears.”

Animal Kingdom

Although Disney teased the potential for DinoLand, U.S.A. to be replaced with other concepts, we don’t have any concrete plans just yet. What we do know, though, is that a new Zootopia show will be coming to the Tree of Life soon!

Disney shared that it will be “filled with humor and action.” And, it also means that we could soon have to say goodbye to the “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” attraction. It hasn’t been confirmed, but it sounds like this might be where we’ll soon find Judy Hopps.

That’s not all, either — over in EPCOT, Test Track is being reimagined and we got a look at the new concept art. Not only that, but the EPCOT Transformation will officially be ending in December 2023. And, Journey of Water will open on October 16th along with a Moana meet and greet opening sometime soon, too.

We’ll be on the lookout for when we may start to see these changes begin, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more.
