NEWS: Timeline Announced for END of EPCOT Transformation!

Hello from Destination D23 in Disney World! We’re bringing you all the biggest news from this HUGE Disney fan event, and we just got some huge news about EPCOT!

EPCOT

The park has been undergoing a massive transformation, and it’s been YEARS in the making.

The announcement that EPCOT would get a massive re-imagining happened way back in 2019, and in the years since, we’ve seen a new entrance plaza open…

…and MUCH more. But while we have lived with EPCOT being a construction zone for the past few years, we’re learning that the END is near! Disney announced that the transformation will be complete with World Celebration opening to guests in December 2023.

Construction

We’re still waiting for CommuniCore Hall and Plaza to open as well as the Moana attraction (which now has an opening date). It seems like all of this will be complete before the end of the year!

  1. Those walls have been up since 2019, it wasn’t just talk.I know because our family went with my parents and my mom was dying of cancer. Mickey Thomas of Starship was at the Flower and garden festival. Dad watched it while we went on Nemo with mom and had dad meet us by those dark walls. That was in May and mom died in November just a few days before a second trip to WDW. We still went in her honor as she wouldn’t have it any other way.
