Loki Season 2
So you know that we’re obsessed with Loki on Disney+, right? And the season finale officially aired this past week, but it’s what came after that has us most excited. The end credits scene revealed that Loki would return for a second season.
We can’t say we’re surprised — Loki has been a huge hit for the streaming service, as well as with us. We can’t wait to see what’s in store next for the god of mischief.
EPCOT Food and Wine Festival
Marvel’s Black Widow Breaks Pandemic Box Office Records
The latest Marvel movie, Black Widow, has become one of the most successful movies in theaters since the pandemic began. Black Widow has officially crossed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office.
Not only that, but the film has also been a huge success on Disney+ as a Premiere Access film — Disney has reported that about two million Disney+ subscribers paid the extra $30 to watch the movie, making it around $60 million off of streaming alone.
Character Dining To Return To Disneyland
Disneyland Resort will soon have character dining again. Guests will soon be able to dine at the Minnie and Friends Breakfast at Plaza Inn and with Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort.
Booking begins for breakfast at Storytellers Cafe on July 20th for dates on and after July 22nd with daily availability (while Friday, Saturday, and Sunday has brunch from 11AM to 1PM). Bookings for Plaza Inn will be available soon for breakfast starting on August 12th.
Epcot Monorail Reopening Soon
The EPCOT Monorail has been closed since March 2020, but it will finally be back up and running soon. The EPCOT Monorail will reopen on July 18th. This will open up one more transportation option at Disney World.
In anticipation of its reopening day, the EPCOT Monorail Station also just got a snazzy new sign.
Disney World Holidays
So Disney World has BIG Plans for the holidays this year! Although there still won’t be a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, instead, guests can attend a special after hours ticketed event called Disney Very Merriest After Hours party instead. This party will be similar to the After Hours Boo Bash for Halloween.
Guests at the party will get to enjoy Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, as well as projections on Cinderella Castle throughout the night. Guests visiting during the holidays will also get to see holiday projections at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays will also return this year and run from November 26th through December 30th. There will also be festive cavalcades in the parks, along with Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll. Finally, Disney World resorts will get in on the holiday fun again with their wonderful gingerbread displays.
It’s not even Halloween yet, but there’s plenty to get excited about if you plan on visiting Disney World over the holidays this year.
So there you have it — the big Disney news you might have missed this week. We’ll be back next week with even more.
