Thanks to Disney World’s complimentary transportation system, guests can get almost anywhere on property without having to drive themselves through traffic or navigate the roads.
And, while there are plenty of transportation options with Disney’s Skyliner, monorail, boats, and busses, guests have had to navigate around the closure of the EPCOT monorail line for over a year now. But, that will be ending soon!
According to Scott Gustin on Twitter (@scottgustin), the EPCOT Monorail line will reopen on July 18th after remaining closed since March 2020!
If you’re not familiar, the EPCOT Monorail line takes guests between the Transportation and Ticket Center and the EPCOT park entrance. And, if you’re staying at any of the monorail resorts or hopping between Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, this is one of the most convenient ways to get to the park.
Once reopen, transportation on the EPCOT monorail will begin one hour before the park is scheduled to open and end one hour after the park closes.
And, because guests staying at the monorail resorts will be able to hop on the reopened transportation line to get to EPCOT, bus transportation to the park will end on July 25th at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Contemporary Resort and in mid-August at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Disney recently repainted the EPCOT monorail station at the Ticketing and Transportation Center, but Disney has not shared more information on why the monorail line closed for such a lengthy amount of time.
Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more reopening updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
