Magic Kingdom - If you have small children who like to ride the roller coasters, but don't want to wait in long lines, head over to the Great Goofini's Barnstormer after the first evening parade or Wishes if the park is open late, and they can ride it over and over again (sometimes without having to get off). My daughter is 5 and we do this a couple of times every time we visit. It's also fun to watch the fireworks from the roller coaster! - Keith King

After having almost missed dinner because we did not have our confirmation number and they could not find us in the computer, I now keep all of our confirmation numbers, dining places, and times in the calendar on my cell phone. That way when I am in the park I have dining reservations literally a fingertip away -- no more forgetting them in the room. - pigget74

ALL PARKS - I mistakenly left my video camera in a locker after Fantasmic last April at the Studios. The following morning, after a harried cab ride and security escort back to the locker rental (I was checking out and flying home that day), I was surprised to find out that they do not clean out the lockers each evening. It is up to the next rental guest to turn in left packages, etc. It was even more difficult, as the manager could only open one locker at a time (there was no master key) and I couldn't remember the exact locker number.TIP: Take a digital photo of your locker number in case you lose your key or, like me, leave articles in it overnight. That way the manager can go directly to that locker and find your personal belongings. The next guest DID turn in my things, the manager called my cell phone immediately, and WDW shipped my articles back to me at no charge. I am very grateful for this service, but could have saved everyone a lot of confusion if I had just snapped a quick photo. This is helpful if you jump parks and have different lockers to memorize every day. - Elizabeth Marsh

Wanting our kids to have the items they "needed" at WDW but wanting to build the magic before and during the trip, we decided to bring our own treat box and let the girls "shop" from that box before each day's activities began. I gave each girl a fanny pack or small backpack, water bottle and an autograph book/pen on the airplane. I packed a small shoebox with treats (gum, mints, fruit roll-ups, cookies, etc.) and another with Disney-related trinkets (keychains, playing cards, stickers, personal fan, etc.). Each morning the girls "shopped" for edible treats to place in their backpacks and a trinket -- this sometimes eliminated them even wanting to shop at a gift shop during the day! I saved countless dollars and had a great time selecting the items for the treat boxes. - Diana L. Maslowski

As a vegetarian I was very concerned when my family wanted to go to the German pavilion in Epcot to have supper. Germans are known for their love of meat! I went in and asked the man at the front about vegetarian choices. He turned out to be the chef, who asked me what I liked to eat and then told me to get anything I would like from the buffet and he would be back. Oh my gosh, he came back with the best pasta dish I have ever eaten in my life! (I tried to coax him home with me, but to no avail.) If you don't see anything that you prefer on the buffet line, just ask. We now stop here every year when we come. - Lori Beros

We have just returned from a stay at the Art of Animation Resort, in a Little Mermaid room. It didn't have any tea- or coffee-making facilities in it, so if you want to make a hot drink in your room or warm a baby bottle, you'll want to bring a travel kettle (or something similar) with you. - Katy Hand

A big part of our trip was the amazing pictures taken by the Disney PhotoPass photographers. I wanted to share with everyone something that Disney just started. As many of you may know, if you want to buy a 5x7 of one of the photos taken of you and your family by a Disney photographer, it will cost you about $20-$25 for ONE photo! Well, we bought one on our first day. By our fourth day, we had taken more than 50 photos with Disney photographers. Fortunately, that day we went to Epcot and stopped in the Camera Center to view our pictures... A very nice Cast Member named Joe advised us that for $99.95 we could purchase a CD with ALL of our Disney photos on it. They would also give us the license so that if we take the CD to a Walgreen's, Wal-Mart or anywhere else, they would know the pictures now belong to us and we can make as many prints in whatever size we want. By the time we left, we had close to 70 pictures, all beautiful, and all taken by Disney photographers. So, if you are picture junkies like we are and love the high quality photos Disney takes, it may well be worth your money to purchase the CD and have ALL the photos Disney took of you during your vacation, rather than spend $25 to get just one. It sure was worth it for us! - Jonathan Young

In response to the tip from PJ from Huntsville, AL, regarding asking a restaurant for children's food even if it's not on the menu, that may be true for SOME of the restaurants, but definitely NOT true at Akershus in Norway at Epcot. We were at the Princess Lunch there, and there was nothing on the menu that my daughter would eat. I asked the server if it would be possible to get chicken fingers, french fries, anything at all, and she said no, only the food on the menu was available. So be warned -- if you have a picky eater, skip the Princess Lunch at Akershus in Norway, or at least eat before you go in -- and understand you will be paying just for your little one to meet the Princesses and not eat! An extra note: it is a great meet and greet -- five princesses were there (Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Aurora and Jasmine), and they were gracious, beautiful, and in no rush -- every single child got a picture and conversation with each of them. It was my daughter's birthday, and every single one of them wished her, "Happy Birthday, Princess!" It made her day, and mine! - DM from Mamaroneck, NY

ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE - During a recent stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we walked outside to enjoy a warm evening, seeing if we could see any animals. Well, being nighttime, there wasn't much to see. One of the guides stationed at the observation posts offered us his night vision goggles. It was absolutely incredible. Each of us got to see the animals moving around. It was literally like opening my eyes when looking through them. There were lots of animals where we thought there were none. We have been to the Animal Kingdom Lodge before, but this was a first for us. I highly recommend this experience. Ask the guides; they are always so helpful. It's just another reason tolove this resort, and Disney! - Linda Waltz

In response to Shawna's tip from last week regarding children's foods at 'Ohana, we recently found out that this should be available at all WDW restaurants. We were dining at the Hollywood Brown Derby and asked our waiter what the children's menu was like since we are expecting our first child and would hate to have to give up our favorite restaurants for a while. Our waiter told us that most WDW sit down restaurants can make most typical children's food favorites -- hot dogs, mac & cheese, chicken fingers, etc. -- whether they are on the menu or not. ALL STAR RESORTS - We stayed at All Star Music Resort during a "value" or low attendance time period for WDW. As it turns out, due to the lower volume of people, the transportation buses tend to make stops at All Star Sports, All Star Music and All Star Movies -- in that order. The end result is that by the time the bus gets to Movies over 50 percent of the time it's standing room only. This may not apply during the regular season and I'm sure it does not apply during the peak or holiday seasons. I developed a saying midway through the vacation: If you want to sit and ride, stay at All Star Sports. - Michael Dodson

We just got back from two weeks at WDW. It was our first time to use the PhotoPass and it was great! By the end of our first day at the park, I had saved our photo card number on my cell phone, just in case the card got lost anytime during our vacation. That way, I could get a new card from the photographer for new photos but still be able to access my earlier photos with the card number I already stored. I also saved on my cell phone the confirmation numbers for all our character dining... very easily accessible. - Maxine B.

ALL PARKS - My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at WDW and had a MAGICAL time! One thing that I would like to share concerns the "Magical Wishes" pins that you can pick up from Guest Relations at the theme parks. My advice is that everyone celebrating a special event -- honeymoon, anniversary, birthday -- pick up one of these buttons. Everywhere we went in WDW we were warmly congratulated by Cast Members! We had an incredible time! I would recommend WDW to any couple who wants a truly special honeymoon! - Christina Church

I learned this tip the hard way when I lost my Disney PhotoPass this past May. I have since returned this past October and what I did with my Disney PhotoPass was place a return address label on the front and hand write my email address in case I lost my card. My hope was that if it was lost, someone would email me or send it back to me via the mail. Many, many Disney photographers made comments to me on what a great idea I had! - Michelle
