We had such a great time staying there, but there were a couple big cons that caused me to lower the rating to a 7.
Pros:
Fun theming, staff were so friendly (of course!), a short walk from art of animation so you can spend some time exploring over there too, the hippie dipper pool was spacious and funCons:
The food was very sub-par. We ate there for a couple meals, and I was always disappointed. The lines for food in the cafeteria went over 30 minutes at times. That was a nightmare with hungry small children in tow. It also was a 25 minute bus ride from Magic Kingdom. I couldn’t believe that you can stay on Disney property and have that long of a commute to a park. (It was my first ever visit to Disney.) I would stay there again but I wouldn’t recommend it based on the cafeteria alone.Reviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 09/26/2018

Best lower-tier hotel! We have stayed at Pop Century for 4 visits so far, and it is definitely our favorite (we can't afford higher-level hotels). We love how close we can stay to the transportation; the food is usually good; we can easily use the microwave in the food court area; they have very good staff. Suggestion to save more money or if you have food issues: if you are flying in, use Amazon Prime Now to order food to be delivered to Pop Century. I do the order on the Magic Bus from the airport. They will deliver it to Pop, and then the concierge will deliver it to our room, including putting the cold things in the refrigerator! I also bring a \"mini-crock\" to cook my oatmeal in the mornings and to cook veggies in the evening (hard to get enough veggies in the parks).
Pros:
Best low-tier in terms of comfort and ability to have a room close to transportation. Good staff, mostly reliable transportation speed. It will get the gondolas!Cons:

For a value resort it surpassed my expectations! Love the upgrades! The grounds are nice and the way the buildings are set up makes for pleasant walking. I didn't feel the walk was far to anything at all. Yes the food court and buses get crowded but thats not unexpected either. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Our very first stay from 8/31-9/6.. Usually stay at PO Riverside, but that resort was not offered with the free dining promo.. and while I know this is a value and not a moderate, and although I did expect smaller rooms and more guests, this was awful! Housekeeping or lack there of, not until after 5 pm most days.. had to call for towels and coffee, cast members not friendly and not really concerned with our concerns! Never any ice in the ice machines and it was HOT!! Very crowded, rooms are very nice but extremely small! Have no idea how a family of 4 would ever fit.. we were 3 adults. I would spend the extra $$ and stay a moderate level for sure. No Disney magic here.. 🙁

Stayed here in July of this year (2018) and was pleasantly surprised they have refurbished the rooms and they have a coffee maker now! Rooms are now clean and have plenty of space for things. I've always enjoyed the theme here more so than the other value resorts but honestly, they're all pretty much the same cookie cutter hotel design. However, as with the other values, this one can be crowded. Especially if there is a special event going on. I would recommend checking on that before booking. There's nothing like waking up at 9 in the morning to a couple hundred cheer leaders practicing outside your room.

We stayed in September of 2017. The room was a King Bed in the 50s set of rooms. We were ground floor and had the old rooms that hadn't be refurbished yet. This was my 6th stay at Pop and it was another delightful one! We landed just before MCO closed in preparation for Irma. I've been to Disney close to 15 times, so I was very interested to see how the resort handled the hurricane. The parks were closed for 2 days, so we had to hang around the resort for those 2 days. We walked around, read the signs, played Pokemon and headed over to Art of Animation as well. Being able to walk to AoA makes this resort an even better destination. Not only can you go Everything Pop's food court but you also get Landscape of Flavors at AoA. The walk is very pleasant. Our only complaint is the food we were offered because of the hurricane. I understand Disney needed to get sandwiches and salads to resort guests so the guests have food while the resort is closed, but it put a damper on having the dining plan. Besides that, this is far and away the best value resort. The cost is just a few dollars more a night than the all stars, but Pop doesn't seem to get the large tourist groups or the large sports teams. It isn't the newest value, AoA is, but AoA is usually discounted less, or doesn't get the free dining plan offered at all. Pop gets the free dining plan, has a large food court, a dedicated bus service, newly refurbished rooms across the resort (now), and has the AoA food court access. I love Pop Century and will always choose Pop as my home resort when I am visiting.

Another stay at Pop: early arrival room-top floor-
90's building-all requests fulfilled. I like the refurbished rooms. Great utilization of space.
My room had a shower only, no bath tub, which I didn't know existed. Not a problem for me but someone might mind not having tub. Nice selection in the food court at the grab and go area.
Magical Express service can't be beat.

This was our 7th stay here, and it is losing its appeal to us. The hotel gets more crowed every time we go - and we always travel at "slow" times. The amount of groups here is pretty bad. One group from Argentina took up an entire bus! There were multiple large groups during our stay - you can tell as they are al dressed alike with matching backpacks, etc. The busses were slow - even though they state what times they are to arrive, we found this was not accurate. The dining area was horrific - each day I dreaded entering it was so loud, busy and chaotic. The next door neighbors were extremely loud and we wore earplugs each night to drown out the noise. The housekeeping staff was EXCELLENT - very friendly did a great job making us feel at home. Did not use the pool, too cold. Did notice it is now enclosed with a fence around it. Did not see ping pong table? Check in now is non existent - all done beforehand - that was nice. Getting picked up 3 plus hours before 7 am flight was rough - but included and no cost so we sucked it up. This is by far the best of the value resorts ( Music,Sports,Movies ) so out of the four - this is the best choice - and there is no bus sharing like at the other value resorts - time saver.

this was my 15th trip to Disney and I was impressed with the room upgrades.
Now equipped with hardwood floors, a queen size bed, a queen size pull down ben, coffee maker, fridge, in room safe, stand up shower, Smart TV, LED lighting, blow dryer, and more. great storage, your luggage will fit under the bed and the stand up shower is big with glass sliding doors.
The food court has gotten better, the food is better than prevous years, diner was incredible. I dined in one night for dinner abd had pot roast with mashed potatoes, green beans and a red wine demi glaze/gravy.
only downside was having groups of cheerleadrs and dance moms show up on the weekend.
