The nighttime spectacular closed back in April 2023 when the Maleficent dragon caught fire mid-show. Disney had previously shared we’d be able to experience the show once again at the end of this month, and now, we have even more details about Fantasmic!’s return.
Disneyland previously announced that Fantasmic! will return to the park on May 24th, 2024, and now we’ve got more details about what the show will look like when it makes its return!

We’ll still enjoy scenes inspired by Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, and Tangled, but we’ll also get to see a new epic battle sequence between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent, “brought to life with updated special effects,” along with the return of the confrontation between Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

Disney hasn’t shared what sort of “updated special effects” these may be and whether or not there will still be pyrotechnic elements during the show or battle scene. You can be sure we’ll be there when the show returns and will bring you a full look at all the changes!

If you’re wondering just how you can see the show, Disney confirmed that standby viewing will be available alongside the Rivers of America. Keep in mind that you can start lining up no more than two hours before the show starts.
