The Country Bears are an iconic part of Disney history.
The Country Bears first appeared in Disneyland in 1972, but unlike their older counterparts in Magic Kingdom (which is closed right now to get an update), the show closed in Disneyland in 2003. But it looks like at least one Country Bear has returned to Disneyland Resort.
Okay, so occasionally, you can actually still see the Country Bears as characters in Disneyland, but one Country Bear has now moved in permanently to the Grizzly Peak Disney Vacation Club booth at Disney California Adventure. Yep, a Big Al statue now greets guests here.
He’s even got his guitar and it seems like he’s crooning a song for visitors in that deep voice he has. His appearance here seems kind of random, but then when you think about it, maybe it’s not. This IS Grizzly Peak, after all, which is named after bears, so we guess it fits?
We’re sure a lot of folks are going to want to stop by here and get their photo with Big Al. But he seems to be a fine addition to the area. In the meantime, you can learn more about Disney Vacation Club, too.
