Disney Files 2 NEW Permits for the Former Muppet Vision 3D Theater

Disney’s Hollywood Studios said goodbye to Muppets Courtyard earlier this year as it prepares to be transformed into an all-new Monsters, Inc. land.

The new land will bring two new attractions to the park, including Disney’s first suspended roller coaster. However, a theater attraction is also on its way, and now, two new permits filed by Disney could hint at what kind of show we’ll be seeing inside.

We don’t have a lot of details about what’s going on in the old Muppets Theater, but Disney has confirmed the new land will have a theater show. Concept art has imagined the name of this theater as “The Glob” Theater.

However, Disney recently filed two new permits for the old Muppets Theater that could give us some idea of what might be happening inside the building. The first permit is by Disney Imagineering for work to be done by Solotech Sales and Integration USA, Inc. Solotech specializes in audiovisual technologies, like LED walls, area video mapping, and full building projection screens.

So from this permit, we can imagine that the new show will be pretty high-tech and immersive, possibly with a lot of screens.

The second permit is for work to be done by Jon Richards Company FL, Inc. This company designs show sets for scenery, as well as props. The company also specializes in themed lighting. This is the same company that designed the stage for the Royal Theatre in Disneyland, signage for Pinocchio Village Haus in Disney World, and more. The permit only says “general construction,” so this contractor could be working on signage for the building, set pieces, props, and more.

It’s not a lot to go on, but it does give us a general idea of the direction Disney is headed for the show. It’s probably going to be much more high-tech than Muppet*Vision 3D, and the theater is probably pretty much going to look a lot different when it reopens with the new show.
