Disney World is known for being the Most Magical Place on Earth, but that doesn’t mean people are impervious to things still going awry.

Trust us, we’re in the parks every day which means we’ve had our fair share of embarrassing moments. And, since we’re nothing if not transparent about our mistakes and mishaps in the parks, we thought we’d share the slightly embarrassing things that happen to just about everyone on Disney World rides.
If you’ve experienced any of these embarrassing problems on Disney World rides, don’t worry — you’re not alone!
Space Mountain Mishaps
Have you or someone you know ever been personally victimized by the Space Mountain ride vehicles? Okay, it may not be the ride vehicles themselves, but getting out of those little rocketships is not an easy feat. Sure, you can step right in, but when it comes to getting out, let’s just say there isn’t really a graceful way to do it.

Because the track sits slightly below the unloading platform, you almost have to climb out of the ride vehicles. Just do your best and we promise no one is paying attention to you — because they’re also doing something just as embarrassing.
Flight of Fashion
Avatar: Flight of Passage is the most popular ride in Animal Kingdom — and for good reason! The immersive attraction puts riders on the back of a banshee from the movies and flies them throughout Pandora. The ride vehicle has folks straddling a mock banshee (like you’d ride a horse or motorcycle) which isn’t inherently a problem…

…unless you’re someone who likes wearing skirts or dresses when you’re in the parks! This is a great example of why we always recommend wearing slip shorts or something else under skirts in Disney World.
Single Rider Slip-ups
The single-rider line can be a great way to skip the standby line at popular Disney World rides, but it does come with its drawbacks! Cast Members will place you in an empty space, almost always near a stranger. This, too, isn’t inherently a problem.

But, we’ve been on rides that necessitate throwing our hands in the air (like a roller coaster or an interactive ride like Toy Story Mania) and have been jolted — only to swiftly smack our ride partner in the face! Just try to be aware of your surroundings and you might make a new friend.
Water Woes
This one isn’t necessarily Disney World-specific, but chances are we’ve all either seen or experienced sitting in a puddle of water, and then you’re faced with looking like you peed your pants. It happens quite often in the parks, though — especially on rides where you’re likely to get wet.

Of course, you’re probably expecting something like this on water rides, but we’ve had it happen when we’d least expect it (we’re talking about you, Pirates of the Caribbean!)
Driving Miss Daisy (Duck)
You could be the world’s best, safest, most competent driver on the road… but that’s all going out the window at the Tomorrowland Speedway. Not only are these things nearly impossible to drive, they’re also impossibly slow.

If you or your kiddo are expecting any sort of high-octane, Vin Diesel-style, turbo-speed racing, you will not find it here. What you will find (in addition to disappointment) are several frustrated drivers embarrassed that they can’t quite quench their need for speed on this ride.
