A Word of Warning About the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts…

The Festival of the Arts is HERE. Who is getting excited?!

We know we are. There are so many things to do when it comes to this festival. It’s fun to try out the food at the festival booths, see what new art offerings there are, and of course– check out the new Figment popcorn bucket. However, we want to share some wisdom with you when it comes to this popcorn bucket.

We would love to say that it’s just a popcorn bucket– but it’s more than that. Fans of Figment, the imagination dragon, have waited years for him to get his time in the spotlight. In 2022, their wish was granted when he became the mascot for the Festival of the Arts.

We were all overjoyed here at AllEars when we got the news that Figment was coming back this year with a BRAND NEW popcorn bucket. However, it reminded us of what happened in 2022 — and we wanted to warn you about what may happen when this bucket is released.

We took Figment for a trip around the world!

On the opening day of the Festival of the Arts in 2022, the original Figment popcorn bucket was released. The lines were long, sometimes having wait times as long as over 6 hours! The line was wrapping around Future World for the majority of the day.

We totally get it — we waited in that line, too. We thought it was SO worth it to get our hands on the Figment popcorn bucket, and we’re glad we did.

The bucket sold out after a few days and was restocked again in February — but this time, guests were allowed to mobile order it and select a pickup time to go back and pick up their buckets, no long line necessary. They brought this method back in 2023 when they re-released the bucket. It worked out well, and we’re hoping they choose to do this again in 2024 with the release of the brand new Figment popcorn bucket.

With each festival comes its own exclusive merch, and when you put a popular character out there for the first time in a LONG time on something as coveted as a collectible popcorn bucket, it is going to get a little wild.

Now this year, Disney is changing the way its NEW Figment popcorn bucket will be sold, so make sure you’re prepared when you head to EPCOT for the festival.

You can find the new Figment popcorn bucket at Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey. BUT, you will need to join a virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app to buy it. A virtual queue is exactly what it sounds like — you join the line “virtually” so that you don’t have to wait physically in a long line. You can check out other festival booths and activities, or ride rides at EPCOT while you wait. You’ll eventually get a notification that it’s your turn to head over to the Odyssey Pavilion to get your bucket.
