The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and most of the party is happening on the West Coast at Disneyland Resort. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to celebrate in Disney World!

Disney announced recently that the center for the Disney100 celebration on the East Coast will be none other than EPCOT! There will be several new additions coming to the park for the occasion, including 100th-themed character meet-and-greets, a new nighttime fireworks show, and even a platinum sculpture of Mickey Mouse. Let’s check out all the updates.
EPCOT already has a lot going on right now, with a major transformation that will bring a new Moana-themed attraction to World Nature and some festival areas to World Celebration.

We also heard about a Figment character meet-and-greet that’s coming to the park this year!

But that’s not all the news for EPCOT. Later this year, you’ll be able to see a new fireworks show on the World Showcase Lagoon that celebrates Disney’s 100th anniversary. Disney has said that this show “will unite us through commonalities of the heart in a dazzling display of fireworks, lasers, music, and light.” The show will have an original composition with “select songs from the Disney songbook.”

Elsewhere in EPCOT, you’ll be able to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their platinum outfits, which debuted in Disneyland at the start of the celebration.

There will be a platinum sculpture of Mickey Mouse coming to the park as well.

Disney announced that guests will be able to watch “Spaceship Earth illuminate the evenings with a special lighting design.” It sounds like those gorgeous lights on Spaceship Earth (which appeared for the 50th anniversary Beacons of Magic shows) won’t be going away anytime soon!

We’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Disney, so stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest news!
