The end of 2022 is quickly approaching!

We’ve seen lots of ride news come out this year. We know when Splash Mountain is closing forever, there could potentially be new sections of the park coming to Magic Kingdom, and TRON Lightcycle Run is coming along very well. But it’s not a secret that rides go down a LOT at Disney. So what was the ride that went down the most in Magic Kingdom this year? The answer could surprise you!
Before we tell you the ride that broke down the most, let’s start with the runner-up. The runner-up to the ride that broke down the most in Magic Kingdom was…

…Splash Mountain! In the 347 days that we’ve calculated from this year, Splash Mountain went down 207 of those days and a total of 311 times!

This is definitely one of the most popular rides in the park (when it’s not cold outside), and all that water adds a whole new level of maintenance that other rides don’t need.

Enough stalling though — what’s the ride that went down the most? Well…

…it was the PeopleMover! Yes, this classic, slow, relaxing ride was the ride that went down the most in Magic Kingdom this year. It was down 251 of the 347 days we calculated and went down a total of — are you ready for this number?

In 251 days, the PeopleMover went down 502 times, which averages out to 2 times per day! How wild is that?
We’ve been in the parks when the PeopleMover has gone down several times and many of our reporters have been stuck or evacuated from the ride. It doesn’t come as much of a shock to us to see that this ride was down the most in Magic Kingdom!

Despite its common issues, people (including us) still love this classic ride. It’s important to remember that any time to visit Disney World, you can run into rides going down or closing early, so be prepared! Sometimes you may even get stuck on a ride, but keep in mind that Disney is prepared for these situations and will get you moving and/or out of the ride ASAP.

As always, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
