PHOTOS: Update on the Construction at EPCOT's Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster

If you’ve visited EPCOT recently, then you probably know that there have been a lot of changes to the park — and more are coming soon!

Recently, Disney opened a new restaurant and two new shops here, and soon there will be new attractions to check out too. And, one project that many Disney fans are looking forward to is the new roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Located in the new World Discovery, this indoor ride will take guests into the Marvel universe and we’re bringing you the latest construction update!

Back in October, we were able to catch a view inside the construction walls during a ride on the monorail to EPCOT. From here, we could see that a lot of the area was still dirt, though some trees had been planted near what would one day be guest walkways.

And, there was really no way to get back anywhere near the upcoming PLAY! Pavilion (which is the big gold dome in the far left).

But, a lot of this area has now been revealed! Disney recently pushed back the construction walls, so you can now get a closer look at that big gold dome…

…and check out all the newly planted trees in the walkways.

It has really opened up the area near Mission: SPACE so there is more space to walk around or take a break during your day.

But, that doesn’t mean that construction is completed just yet — there are still construction walls up closer to the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction…

Construction isn’t done just yet though!

…and crews can still be spotted from afar working on the exterior of the building.

Disney has shared that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open sometime in the Summer of 2022, so it will be a little bit longer before we can see what lies inside. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye on all the progress, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
