VIDEO: Disney Shares a Behind-the-Scenes Look at EPCOT’s Harmonious!

Slowly but surely, Disney World’s next great nighttime spectacular is coming together, and we’ve been on barge patrol for months awaiting the debut of Harmonious in EPCOT. 

As Disney continues to run tests and add more barges to World Showcase Lagoon, now they’re giving us a sneak peek behind the curtains to reveal more details on the entertainment  and artistry going in the show! 

Today, Disney Parks Blog released a captivating collection of Harmonious photos (some of the clearest and most awe-inspiring yet!) and provided some exciting updates on the entertainment elements! 

Though they have yet to confirm a launch date for the show, Disney points out that the goal with Harmonious is to highlight EPCOT’s theme of global unity and celebration, via elaborate musical numbers and sure-to-be-spectacular visuals from global artists. 

Though we’ve been spotting barge activity in recent months, Disney is digging deeper by sharing that Disney Live Entertainment technical designers have been hard at work programming different elements of the show. These include lighting, pyrotechnics, media, and fountains. 

Meanwhile, the music division has been remotely recording songs with various artists, working in studios across the world! 

When it’s all said and done, there will be five floating platforms arranged around World Showcase Lagoon in the shape of a compass, each equipped with these theatrics and musical numbers. In the middle: a six-story ring structure that will serve up dramatic water fountains and lighting. 

By working with artists across the globe, Disney is definitely showing true “harmony” as it continues to work on one of the largest nighttime spectaculars in the company’s history. Check out the video below for more updates!
