PHOTO: Sneak Peek of Disney's Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Ride Vehicles!

EPCOT has been under construction for a new ride that’s all about Guardians of the Galaxy!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be a goliath coaster inspired by the plot and characters from the Marvel series. We’ve been keeping watch on the construction zone as the indoor coaster takes shape. Imagineer Zach Riddley just revealed a HUGE sneak peek of the coaster’s incredibly detailed ride vehicles today!

How cool are these?? The vehicles are being worked on at an Imagineering warehouse in Florida. Riddley notes that “if you look closely at the colorful paint design on the vehicles (called coaches in roller coaster engineering parlance), each one is unique with different wear patterns and impact marks.” He goes on to say that the markings were inspired by NASA Space Shuttles that receive several bumps, wear, and tare while reentering the Earth’s atmosphere.

He also teased us by continuing his caption with, “We can’t wait to share more on this truly out-of-this-world, awesome attraction as we make progress on construction and put these coaches on the track!” The ride will open in 2021 as part of Disney World’s 50th anniversary. Hopefully, we’ll get more sneak peeks of the coaster real soon!
