Get ready for your space adventures to look a little different! Hollywood Studios is changing big time, and we don’t think it’s too far to say they’re out of this world.

Disney recently shared that some new scenes and updates were coming to the Smugglers Run ride in Disney World and Disneyland. Now, we finally have some NEW info about how the ride is being updated with one of Disney’s newest partners.
Everyone, get ready, we finally know a little something more about the new missions on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! The ride is getting brand new destinations, and for the first time ever, the engineer will be the one to actually pick where you want to go. Talk about a major upgrade for that role!

The new missions will be inspired by the new movie The Mandalorian and Grogu. Disney’s partnership with Epic Games made this new “enhanced storytelling” possible because of Epic’s Unreal Engine 5.

Disney shared that they worked with the Unreal Engine to ensure that the 5 monitors used during the ride can operate smoothly, just like one monitor would when you’re playing a game at home. They used the Unreal models from the new movie in the new ride scenes so they could avoid making all of the new aspects from scratch. They shared that it allows them to bring the story to life much faster than ever before, and it guarantees that it’s 100% authentic to the film.

The new missions will debut on May 22nd, 2026, at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios! We are seriously ready to take flight. You can learn even more about changes coming to the Disney parks, along with the new scenes, right here!
They shared that the partnership with Epic Games will greatly improve the quality of the attraction and the guests’ experience in each role. We can’t wait to put it to the test when the new scenes debut next year. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates.
