I’d Bet My Next Paycheck That These 4 Disney World Hotel Tips Come in Handy in 2026

I can’t believe it either, but it’s already time to start planning your 2026 Disney World vacations. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you might be shelling out the big bucks on your trip.

Beautiful new Bay Lake Tower Rooms

Since you’re spending all that money, don’t you want to get the most out of your trip? We’re dropping four trips that will make sure you make the most of your money on your vacation and have the best trip yet.

Avoid the Skyliner Resorts in January

In case you didn’t know, the Skyliner will be closed from January 25th to 31st, and while that doesn’t seem like a long time, if it’s smack dab in the middle of your trip, you’re going to be out of luck with one of the most convenient transportation. It will be closed around the same time in 2027, from January 24th to 30th, so this might start a recurring refurbishment every year.

The Disney Skyliner

While there are other transportation options, like the boat, monorail, and, of course, all the buses, those who usually use the Skyliner, including you, will flood the other modes, making the lines longer than usual. Many guests choose these resorts for their Skyliner convenience, so maybe push your trip or choose a different resort.

The resorts with Skyliner stops include:

    • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
    • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
    • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
    • Disney’s Riviera Resort

Check for Pool Closures (and Other Closures)

Ugh! There’s nothing worse than talking up your hotel pool to your kids for months just to find out it is going under a refurbishment by the time you get there. Some resorts have multiple pools or offer for guests to head to a nearby resort to enjoy their pool, but if there are certain pools your family has loved for years and all of a sudden you can’t go, everyone is going to be disappointed.

All Star Music

Don’t forget to check out other closures, too. You can check for all the closures on the Disney World website page for your specific resort. While Disney does a great job of keeping construction noise down during the day, that doesn’t mean it won’t bother you during midday naps or lunches.

Beach Club Pool

Check for Discounts

You might be missing out on saving money just because you didn’t check. Discounts usually don’t pop up when you go to book your hotel, so you’ll have to go to the Disney World Discounts page to find them. There are discounts for Florida Residents, Annual Passholders, and Military Members. There are even discounts for any guest — you just have to check. If you’re buying tickets, don’t forget to check the page too to make sure you’re not missing out on anything.

Choose the Best Room For Your Family

Some resorts allow you to pick certain rooms, like castle view, closer to the lobby, closer to the pool, and more perks that put your room exactly where you want it. There are some Disney World resorts that are HUGE, and at the end of a long day, when you’re lugging three backpacks, two shopping bags filled with toys, and one kiddo who has already started their bedtime, you’ll be thanking yourself for choosing a closer room.

Bay Lake Tower Villa

On the other hand, you might not want a closed room! If you want a more secluded space with less noise, you might not want to be close to the lobby or pool, and you might enjoy walks at night when the Florida sun has finally gone down.
