There’s no shortage of things to do at EPCOT — so why spend 10 minutes watching a nature documentary?

Awesome Planet is one of those attractions that always seems to fly under the radar. It’s located in The Land Pavilion, right near big names like Soarin’ and Living with the Land, but somehow it gets missed or skipped by a lot of guests. So we asked our AllEars readers what they really thought about this short environmental film — and the feedback? Let’s just say it’s… mixed. Let’s break down the good, the bad, and the “I guess this is fine if it’s really hot outside” of Awesome Planet.
What Our Readers Are Saying
First up, we have our reader PolynesianStitch, who gave Awesome Planet a 6 out of 10 and shared:

While they listed air conditioning and comfortable seats as pros, which, let’s be real, can carry a lot of weight on a hot day at EPCOT, the downside, for them, is that it’s a “once and done type of film.” (That seems to be a pretty common opinion based on your thoughts.)
Next, DisneyGirlMelissa gave it a 4 out of 10 and said:

She also appreciated the air conditioning, but felt like there was nothing special about the film overall. It got the job done, but didn’t leave a lasting impression.
We had an anonymous reviewer rate it just 3 out of 10, and they shared:

Their pro? “You will feel like a horrible person by end of show!” Their con? Simply put: AC. So yeah, this one clearly didn’t land the way Disney hoped.
On the flip side, another anonymous AE reader had a more positive take, rating it 8 out of 10. They shared:

They liked that it was short, had a great narrator, and covered a lot in 10 minutes, but still flagged the message as being a bit too political at the end.
Here’s What We Think
Awesome Planet doesn’t try to be thrilling or flashy, and it definitely isn’t meant to compete with Soarin’. But it does offer some stunning visuals, a solid 4D presentation, and a short break from the Florida heat — and those things matter in a park day.

The film gives a brief overview of Earth’s major environments — oceans, deserts, forests — and how climate change and other human actions are impacting them. It gets a little heavy in the middle, but the ending shifts to a more hopeful message. It encourages guests to get involved through the Disney Conservation Fund and even suggests joining the conversation online.

We also love that the film doesn’t just stop at doom and gloom. It closes with the reminder that this planet really is awesome, and we all have a role in keeping it that way. It’s quick, it’s accessible, and it gets the point across — even if not everyone agrees with how it delivers the message.

The Bottom Line
If your goal is to hit the biggest, boldest, most iconic attractions at EPCOT, then no, Awesome Planet probably isn’t worth carving out time for. But if you need a breather between rides, want to soak up some AC, or you’re already in The Land Pavilion grabbing lunch or waiting for a reservation, it’s worth ducking in for a few minutes.

Is it going to blow your mind? No. Will it leave you thinking? Maybe. Is it something you have to do? No, but it might just be a solid reset button in the middle of your day.
