Disney World trips can be tricky enough to plan without inevitably making a lot of avoidable mistakes.

Unfortunately, making mistakes when planning and visiting Disney World is bound to happen. Fortunately for you, we’ve been there and done that, and during our daily visits, we see plenty of mistakes consistently made. Our experiences can be your gain, though, as now you can know what to look out for!
Don’t worry — most people make lots of mistakes that’ll make Disney World vacation 10 times more difficult at some point during their trip. YOU’RE NOT ALONE! We’ll be going over five things that really stand out and can be avoided if you’re conscious of them before and during your trip!

Not Being Flexible With Your Planning
One of the downsides of a Disney World vacation is how much planning it requires. From advanced dining reservations to Lightning Lanes to creating ride itineraries, it can be tempting to map out every second of your day.

You’ve gotta have a least a little bit of flexibility. Scheduling absolutely everything is overkill and adds extra stress.

Don’t be like the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Live in the moment, or you could risk missing out on something incredible.
Not Using Lightning Lanes
Purchasing Lightning Lane access is a luxury that not everyone needs, but for Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Lightning Lanes can almost seem necessary.

Both parks get incredibly busy, and if you want to experience as much as possible, you can’t skip this feature.

If you visit either park without any Lightning Lane reservations — which allow you to bypass the standby lines — be prepared to not have enough time to experience some of your most anticipated attractions. To learn more about Lightning Lanes, click the link below!

Take Advantage of Advanced Dining Reservations
While we suggested going with the flow earlier, we can’t deny the importance of advanced dining reservations.

Winging it when it comes to dining is a recipe for disaster. You risk not dining at your favorite restaurants or not dining at a sit-down restaurant at all.

Dining reservations can be made 60 days out from your trip, and we recommend booking then.
Not Breaking In Your Shoes Before Your Trip
You just bought new expensive running shoes before your trip, and you’re now ready to take on Disney World without fear…right?

Not so fast, my friends. If you don’t break in your shoes before your trip, you WILL get blisters. Break in your shoes well before your trip, and your feet will thank you.
Overplanning
It needs to be said —Â you can’t do everything at Disney World in one trip, so don’t try.

Disney World is the size of San Francisco, and you’d have to spend weeks upon weeks at the resort just to try everything offered. So travel with that understanding and take it easy on yourself, especially if you’re traveling with kids or the elderly.

Vacations are supposed to be fun. Overexerting yourself can be taxing and ruin your trip before it really even gets going.

We’ve all made these mistakes before, and we’re here to make sure you avoid them during your next trip!
