Epic Universe officially opens at Universal Orlando on May 22nd, 2025, and we can’t WAIT to check it out!
There are five different lands at this new park: SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park, and we’re sharing the “top-secret” shortcuts you need to know about.
Epic Universe may not be opening for another couple of months, but since the map has been released on the Universal Orlando app, we’re speculating about what some of the best shortcuts might be! Of course, we won’t know for certain until we actually explore the new park, but we’re trying to be prepared, people!!!
Okay, we know that it’s no secret that there will be a major shortcut into the park thanks to the new Helios Grand Hotel, which will have its own dedicated entrance. BUT, it looks like that will be particularly advantageous for those wanting to get to Dark Universe — and the Monsters Unchained ride — first.
It also looks like there may be a path between this Celestial Park restaurant and the entrance portal to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic. From the map, it looks like the path leads straight to the entrance of Stardust Racers.
In that same area, but slightly above it on the map, there’s a building that appears to be on the grounds of the Helios Grand Hotel even though the entrance looks like it’s from Epic Universe — could it potentially be another path between the hotel and the park?
We’re also not totally sure what this little path leads to yet, but it also has the potential to connect multiple different areas of the park.

It appears to me those paths from the Grand Helios could be used as holding areas for Grand Helios guests that they can use to get a head start at rope drop on guests coming from other Universal hotels or staying offsite. Since it is looking like Grand Helios guests will not get free Universal Express with their stay, they will have to use rope drop and the advantage of staying so near EU to get an advantage over all the other EU guests.
