While pools — from huge, feature-filled water playgrounds to small quiet havens of relaxation— are a headlining feature of Disney World’s hotels.

However, there are also some harsh realities that come with them.
Territorial Guests
While one would like to think that all guests at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” are calm and sedate, the reality is that the stresses of a packed pool area can get to anyone, even on vacation. Case in point, people can get very territorial about holding and claiming towels and chairs around resort pool areas.

This is especially true around the main pools, so maybe try one of the smaller, quieter pools if you are worried about crowds.
Kids
Look, it’s Disney World. Of course, there are going to be kids, and of course, they’re going to be amped up playing around the pool area. This is going to be especially true at some of the resort’s larger themed pool areas, which are almost like miniature water parks.

Once again, the smaller quiet pool offerings might be better for your taste if this bothers you.
No Late Night Swimming
If you were planning to take a long, relaxing dip after a day at one of Disney’s parks, you may be in for a rude time crunch. Disney’s hotel pools are open until either 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM, depending on season, making it very hard/in some cases borderline impossible, to stay at one of the resort’s parks until closing, get back to your hotel, and then get to spend any significant time in the pool.

At best, we’d recommend reading back from the parks a bit early if you’re dead set on a swim before bed.

Next time you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, keep these harsh realities – and how to mitigate them – in mind! Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney World tips!
