Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to some of the most popular attractions in all of Disney World.

From Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land to Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy’s Edge, people come from all over to experience these specific attractions, which also means they get some of the longest lines in all the resort. If you’ve chosen to buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass to bypass some of these waits, these are the rules you NEED to know before your purchase.
Breedlove’s 3-Hour Loophole
When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you’ll be told that you have one hour to redeem your return time once it pops up. For example, if you book a return time for 2:10 PM, you’ll have until 3:10 PM to ride. After that, it’ll disappear from your My Disney Experience App and it won’t be valid anymore…or will it?

Breedlove completed an experiment when Multi Pass first was released and we’ve used this loophole ever since — you don’t have one hour to arrive at the ride — you have a total of THREE! So even though your 2:10 PM Lightning Lane will disappear from the app at 3:10 PM, you actually have until 5:10 PM to ride. However, this is NOT the case for any shows that use Lightning Lane Multi Pass, so keep that in mind! This also allows you to stack Lightning Lanes, as you’ll be able to book another one when the first hour of your return time is up — it truly is a game changer!
Keep Refreshing!
If you weren’t able to get your top Lightning Lanes in preparation for your day, don’t give up hope! Just like your plans change throughout the day, so do many other people’s, and that means it’s totally possible that Lightning Lane availability could open up for attractions throughout the day.

This will be harder for some of the more sought after attractions, but it’s not impossible! We don’t recommend staring at your phone ALL day just to look for times to pop up, but checking every now and then truly can pay off in many different ways.
The Most Tech Savvy Person Should Have The Phone/Make The Plans
Stacking Lightning Lanes and making the most of the system isn’t easy — we’ll be the first to admit that! But once you’ve got it down, it feels like it’s a breeze (for the most part), so have one person in your group learn all they can about Lightning Lanes, and make sure THEY can make the plans for everyone.

This way, no one steps on anyone else’s toes and gets confused or upset. For this, you’ll need to make sure everyone’s connected on the My Disney Experience App first, that way plans can be made for the whole group. Trust us, it’s better to just let one person handle it all rather than have everyone trying!
Go For Slinky Dog Dash FIRST
If you have any interest in riding Slinky Dog Dash, you’ll want to make that your main focus when you’re grabbing your Lightning Lanes. Not only is it often one of the most popular rides in the park, but it also has one of the HOTTEST lines in the park, and you don’t want to find yourself standing in it midday.

Disney World hotel guests can book their Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance, which means a lot of times may already be booked up when regular guests can book theirs three days before their visit. However, if there are still times available, you’ll want to grab it ASAP! Even if it’s not sunny and hot when you go, this is one of the most unpleasant lines you can wait in since it’s almost all outside, so you don’t want to be out in the rain either!

We’re always here to help you plan for your next Disney World vacation, so stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest news!
