The NEWEST Disney World App Changes Make Your Next Trip WAY Easier

Planning a Disney World trip can be a LOT — it can even get overwhelming.

Then, there’s so much you have to keep in mind when you’re ON your trip, including keeping track of dining reservations, managing Lightning Lane selections, keeping track of hotel reservations, and more. In the old days, a lot of us use to use spreadsheets, but thanks to the My Disney Experience app, things are a LOT easier now. Disney continues to add new features to the app, and some of the latest updates have made our Disney trips WAY easier.

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

Car Locator

The car locator has been part of the My Disney Experience app since 2022, but we had to mention it because it’s been one of the most helpful additions to the apps in a long time. For those who drive to the parks, finding your car at the end of the day can be challenging.

However, the Car Locator feature on the app makes finding your vehicle, even if you forgot where you parked, super easy.

Water Bottle Refill Station Locator

We bring water bottles to the parks EVERY day, so another helpful feature of the My Disney Experience app is the update that shows water bottle refill stations. Although you can generally find water fountains next to most bathrooms in Disney World, you can just go into the app, search for “water bottle refill” and then click on “Water Bottle Refill Stations.”

Click on “Find on Map” to show a map with all the water bottle filling locations, including the one closest to you.

Modify dining reservations up to two hours before

Another super handy feature in the My Disney Experience app is the ability to change your dining reservations up to two hours before. This includes being able to add or remove guests, modifying times, or even changing the restaurant. You can also even cancel dining reservations for most locations up to two hours in advance on the app.

You will need to note that some dining reservations and experiences may have a different policy (for example, you may face a cancellation fee at Victoria & Albert’s if you cancel less than 24 hours before your reservation). Make sure you read the cancellation policy for each restaurant before you make changes or cancel.

Park pass reservation refresh

If you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, you still need to make park pass reservations to visit the parks except on Good-To-To days. However, we just recently noticed that if you’re looking for park pass reservations on the My Disney Experience app, you now have the ability to refresh the calendar.

You’ll find a “Refresh Calendar” link at the top of the calendar. This could come in handy if you need to re-check a certain date to see if any reservations opened up for that day.

So the next time you use the My Disney Experience app, keep these features in mind — they’ll make your trip even easier!
