If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you know how important the My Disney Experience app is for your vacation.

The app is how you’ll make Genie+ and Lightning Lane reservations, plus it’s how you mobile order from various quick service dining locations and it can even help you get into your Disney World hotel room or act as your park ticket. Disney recently announced another feature that would be coming to the app, and now it’s here!
Disney announced that a new feature will be coming to My Disney Experience: a car locator sponsored by State Farm. It works like this: you can record where you parked before you leave your car to start your park day (or allow the location services to do it for you automatically), and at the end of the day, you’ll be able to go back into the app and see exactly where you parked. No more wandering around the parking lot at the end of the day!

Disney had not previously announced when exactly this feature would be rolled out, but when we were in the parks today, we noticed that it was an option available to us! We were parked in the Animal Kingdom parking lot, when we saw it as an option for us in the app.

If you hit the blue “Save Vehicle Location” button, the app will use your phone’s location services and bluetooth to figure out where you are parked in the lot, and it’s actually pretty accurate. If you don’t want to enable those services, you can also manually enter your vehicle’s location in the parking lot. If you’re going to manually input your car’s location, it will first ask you which theme park you’re parked in. It also includes Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Springs, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

When you select your park, you will then be asked which lot you parked in. From there, you will also be asked for your row.

You can go back into the app and update these details at any time throughout your visit. Disney shared that this feature will be coming to the Disneyland app, as well, but did not share details when.
If you’re heading to the Disney World parks soon, there are some things you should know! Meet and greets are returning all over the parks, including at Star Wars Launch Bay as well as roaming and spontaneous meet and greets in the Magic Kingdom.

Plus, the Food and Wine Festival has just kicked off in EPCOT bringing lots of delicious food and drink options with it. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news!

Will you be using Disney’s new car locator feature? Let us know in the comments!

Interesting the car locator feature. For years, we’ve been taking a picture of the signs near where we parked. When getting closer, if needed, hit the car finder function on my keyfob. I really don’t want to spend any more time on my phone, it’s bad enough I have to be on the phone for Lightning Lane, food ordering, opening my resort door. Of course, this is another reinforcement to use internal transportation! Much, much easier!
Could you also use this for remembering/finding your hotel room? Or is it geofenced to the parking lots?
I always just take a picture with my phone. seems easier
