Walt Disney World’s MagicMobile Service

Walt Disney World guests are used to My Disney Experience, the program and app that allows them to Mobile Order food, find anything they need on Park maps, make Genie+ selections, and much more.

But an announcement in March 2021 introduced a new mobile service that’s sure to change how many of us do Disney: MagicMobile.

MagicMobile Basics

MagicMobile will serve as an option for those guests who choose not to purchase and/or use a MagicBand. MagicMobile will allow guests to create a “pass” using My Disney Experience. That pass will be added to your device’s digital wallet and will permit a mobile device to act as a MagicBand for functions including:

  • tapping into the Park entrance
  • pay for purchases using access points in stores and restaurants
  • tapping in at FastPass+ kiosks

MagicMobile will not replace MagicBand completely; in fact, guests can use both interchangeably. So if you want to try MagicMobile but decide MagicBand is better for you, you can make that choice (and vice versa).

MagicMobile will not affect the use of My Disney Experience as a digital room key; you’ll keep opening doors with your mobile device as you can do currently.

MagicMobile Devices

Disney has not released a full list of MagicMobile-eligible devices but did specify Apple devices — including AppleWatch — will be able to access the service first.

MagicMobile Roll-Out

The announcement did not include specific dates for the roll-out of MagicMobile. Rather the functions will launch later this year and be added in phases. We’ll keep you updated on those phases as information is released.

When MagicMobile launches, we will add step-by-step instructions here.
