EPCOT has seen a lot of changes over the last few years.

Throughout the EPCOT Transformation, we got new attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. We even got a brand new gift shop, Creations Shop, a new version of Club Cool, and a new central food court, Connections Eatery. World Celebration Gardens opened, and the transformation was officially completed when CommuniCore Hall and Plaza opened in June. While all these new additions are super exciting, we lost some of the original EPCOT along the way.
The front esplanade of EPCOT was completely changed and opened up more. The music loop of EPCOT was also changed, which made EPCOT fans sad since the loop is so iconic. Although the music changed, the previous loop could still be heard in one part of the park.

The Imagination Pavilion, home to Journey into Imagination with Figment, has bathrooms to the right towards the back of the pavilion.

Well, this area of the park actually played the 1982 EPCOT music loop. Fans pointed this out and thought it was odd to keep the old music playing just in this one part, but no one complained since it was still a piece of old EPCOT.

Well, that all changed. One of our reporters was in this area and noticed that the music loop was different. It was no longer the old loop or the new loop. Instead, it was the music loop from 1999.

Our reporter confirmed with a Cast Member who said that they also noticed the change. The Cast Member’s break room shares a wall with the restroom, so they can hear inside. One day, while some Cast Members were on break, they noticed that the music that they heard during their break had changed.

Nobody has told the Cast Members why, but they are guessing that maybe the 1999 loop matches better with the current version of the attraction as the attraction was Journey Into Imagination until 1998. The new version of the attraction that is in place now opened in 2002.

Who knows if the original will be back soon or not, but this is not the only interesting thing happening around EPCOT. Recently, the prairie fire effect was added back to Living with the Land. Over in the Seas with Nemo and Friends, the lighting effect on the ceiling is working again. The lightning effect on Spaceship Earth is working once again.

We are happy to see that Disney is continuing to take care of EPCOT and bring back these old details because Disney fans are taking notice!
