What Are After Hours Events?
For those who might not be familiar with them, After Hours events are separately ticketed events — that means your regular park ticket won’t work for them. Instead, you’ll need to be a specific event ticket to attend.
During these After Hours events, the park you buy a ticket for will remain open for 3 extra hours JUST for After Hours event guests. You do, however, get to enter the parks a little bit earlier than that with your After Hours ticket to experience some bonus time there.

Typically, the big draw of these events is their limited capacity, which can lead to some seriously EMPTY park areas, incredibly short wait times, and the ability to go on popular rides FAST.

But note that we did see some slightly longer waits at the EPCOT After Hours event for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind than you might expect (though we were there on its opening night).

During After Hours events, you can also check out character meet-and-greets…

…and you get complimentary ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select beverages.

Just know that only select rides, merchandise locations, and other spots remain open during After Hours. So you should NOT expect to find a whole bunch of restaurants open or anything like that. Additionally, certain areas of the parks may be blocked off.
