Disney After Hours has officially returned to Disney World!
The hard ticketed event kicked off tonight in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing guests to ride some of Disney World’s most popular rides without the high wait times or crowds. Along with fewer people, there are a few other things you can expect when you’re visiting a Disney After Hours event!
Taking place on select nights through April 19th, 2023, Disney After Hours requires a separately ticketed event that allows guests to enjoy light snacks, entertainment, and low wait times in the parks after hours.
The event takes place on select nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, allowing entry into the park at 7PM through 12:30AM.
Treats
Included with your ticket, you can enjoy a variety of treats, including ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select bottled beverages that you can find at various carts throughout the park. We stopped by and got two free ice creams…
…a free thing of popcorn…
…and a free bottle of Coke.
You can also purchase select menu items at the Milk Stand, Woody’s Lunch Box, Anaheim Produce, Rosie’s All-American Cafe, and KRNR The Rock Station. Oga’s Cantina will also have walk-up availability, and select outdoor bars will also be available.
Low Wait Times
You’ll find that the major draw to this event, though, is the low wait times. Hollywood Studios consistently has some of the highest wait times of any Disney World park during a regular day, so for many, it may be worth the price of admission just to be able to get on Rise of the Resistance in less than a few hours!

- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Toy Story Mania!
- Star Tours -The Adventure Continues
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
- Tower of Terror
Entertainment
For entertainment, there are a few shows you can catch, both as a regular guest (since non-After Hours guests will be in the park until the event begins), and as part of After Hours. The Wonderful World of Animation show takes place at the Chinese Theatre, and will be available at 9PM for regular guests and 11:45PM for After Hours guests.
You will also have the chance to watch Disney Movie Magic, which will be available twice! You can catch showings at 8:40PM and 11:25PM.
During regular hours, you will also have the chance to catch Fantasmic!. Showtimes may change based on the date you visit, so be sure to check the Disney World website or My Disney Experience beforehand when planning.

No, we were at Disney in the fall and there were so many after hours events that we didn’t even get into the magic kingdom at night with regular tickets. This is just a way for Disney to make you pay for what you already should be allowed with a regular ticket. Getting very disappointed.
