Grab a Pen — You Need to Know About These Disney CLOSURES

Getting ready for a Disney World trip? You’ve probably already made your Park Pass Reservations, picked out the restaurants you want to eat at, and become a Genie+ master. So what’s left on your to-do list?

Before you get to Disney World, make sure you’ve checked out what’s going to be CLOSED at the parks and hotels! Here’s a complete list of what’s going to be temporarily closed from October 23rd through the 29th.

Magic Kingdom Closures

Walt Disney World Railroad

We know that many fans are anxiously awaiting the reopening of the Walt Disney World Railroad. Unfortunately, Disney hasn’t yet announced when this popular attraction will return.

We’ve noticed new railroad tracks being added in the tunnel at the construction site for TRON: Lightcycle Run (over in Tomorrowland), but still no update has been given about a reopening timeline. It’s possible that this ride will remain closed until TRON construction is finished (in Spring 2023), as that project has interrupted some of the tracks. But we’ll keep an eye out for more news.

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

Over in Tomorrowland, the Space Mountain gift shop is currently closed. Guests usually exit through this shop, so they’re being redirected to a different exit while it’s closed.

Disney hasn’t given any updates about when the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. shop could reopen.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Looking to meet Belle in Magic Kingdom? She can sometimes be found greeting guests over near the Enchanted Tales with Belle attraction, but the full attraction experience is still unavailable.

Disney hasn’t announced when this attraction will fully reopen.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

Over in Storybook Circus, Pete’s Silly Sideshow is still closed. This is where guests could previously meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy in their circus performer outfits.

Disney has announced that this character meet-and-greet spot will reopen sometime “in the coming months,” but a specific reopening date was not given. We’ll be watching carefully for updates!

Meet Ariel at Her Grotto

And in Fantasyland, Ariel’s Grotto is still closed as well. Although you can’t meet Ariel at this location, you can spot her over in the Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction, located nearby.

Disney hasn’t announced when Ariel’s Grotto will reopen.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures

Fantasmic!

Fans of Disney’s Fantasmic! won’t have to wait too much longer for this show’s return — it’ll be back starting on November 3rd, 2022!

Disney announced showtimes for Fantasmic! as well — make sure you check out those times on the My Disney Experience app before you visit, because they aren’t the same every day.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Another show in Hollywood Studios isn’t quite as lucky as Fantasmic! The Voyage of the Little Mermaid has been closed for a long time now with no word about when it will return.

We’ll be watching for any announcements about this stage show.

EPCOT Closures

Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360

This film attraction in the Canada pavilion of World Showcase is currently unavailable because the theater is being used to house the Appleseed Orchard booth for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.

Canada Far & Wide should resume playing after the festival ends on November 19th.

Cool Wash

Cool Wash is a little kiosk located near Test Track that sometimes serves up cold drinks. It’s been closed for a while now, with shrubs covering the entrance.

The shrubs are still there right now, but we recently saw an update at this spot. The sign has been replaced and now says “Refreshment Station.” Could that mean it’ll reopen soon with new treats? We’ll have to wait and see!

The American Adventure Pavilion

The American Adventure show is also closed in EPCOT’s World Showcase. This spot is also covered by several plants, which appears to be Disney’s favorite way of telling guests that something is not available.

Disney hasn’t announced when the show will return, but a Cast Member told us that the closure was for routine refurbishments on the animatronics.

Disney Water Park Refurbishments

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open right now, but the Blizzard Beach water park is still closed.

Disney hasn’t given any details about when Blizzard Beach will reopen.
