UPDATE on Toy Story Land CHANGES in Disney World

Disney World is always changing.

We’ve seen that with the ongoing EPCOT transformation and several changes at Disney’s hotels. There are also some new additions coming to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so we’re going to give you an update on all of those!

Toy Story Land will soon be getting a new dining spot, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, along with a new store called Jessie’s Trading Post. We’ve been keeping a close eye on construction for both, and now we have an update!

We previously saw concept art of what Roundup Rodeo BBQ will look like. This will be a table service restaurant where guests can head inside (into the air conditioning — hooray!) to find barbecue-style food. The concept is that guests are visiting toys at a rodeo.

We’ve kept an eye on the construction walls up in Toy Story Land where Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be, which are located close to Slinky Dog Dash.

We checked recently, and those walls are still up. However, you can get a sneak peek at more concept art of the upcoming restaurant if you look at the signs on the walls. The restaurant is expected to open sometime this year, but Disney hasn’t given a more specific opening date yet.

However, we did recently notice that Disney has filed a permit to “install set elements” at an address associated with Toy Story Mania. That might mean that Disney’s working on some decorations for the upcoming gift shop, Jessie’s Trading Post, which we believe will be located near Toy Story Mania.

There are currently walls between the exit of Toy Story Mania and Woody’s Lunch Box, which is where Jessie’s Trading Post could be located.

Disney described the new gift shop like this: “Andy discovered Jessie’s Trading Post playset tucked away in the attic, and is bringing it downstairs to set up shop—full of the coolest toys and finest souvenirs handpicked by the rootinest, tootinest cowgirl.”
