Permits Filed for Construction on Another Disney World Hotel

One of the most important parts of planning a Disney vacation is choosing a hotel. But how do you decide??

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Villas feature more space than typical Disney hotel rooms and they can be popular spaces for both DVC and non-members alike.  With several DVC hotels undergoing construction and refurbishment, it looks like we can add another hotel to the list! But is it a BIG transformation or just routine maintenance? Let’s discuss.

The Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Treehouse Villas are super unique places to stay in Disney World — and yes, they are treehouses! There are 60 Treehouse Villas available to sleep up to 9 guests (plus a crib for children 3 and under), and they’re built about 10 feet off the ground, with four of them handicap accessible.

According to new construction permits filed for “General Construction” on four specific Treehouse Villas (702270237026, and 7031), Disney World officials are planning some changes for these villas.

“General construction” can mean anything from basic maintenance to major upgrades, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any news about what these permits are referring to. Note that the Saratoga Springs High Rock Spring Pool and On the Rocks Pool Bar will be closed from January 2023 to late March 2023, so it’s safe to say that you can probably expect to encounter some construction at the hotel during upcoming stays.

Saratoga Springs is not the only DVC resort to receive some updates. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is also undergoing construction on its 200 new DVC studios, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be getting an expansion including more DVC rooms, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is also getting some updates soon.

If you prefer to avoid hotels undergoing construction, it’s never a bad idea to check Disney World’s refurbishment calendar. Keep reading AllEars for more Disney World refurbishment news so that you don’t have to get to your hotel to find out the pool is closed!

  1. We have stayed before as a family of 9. We have reservations there again the end of June. Loved them & the privacy to visit on the beautiful deck.

  2. I and my family stayed in the “Treehouse” long before it became Saratoga Springs. We loved it. My fondest memory of this place was when my 3-year old grandaughter and I enjoyed feeding cheerios to the peacocks that visited us on the deck every morning. I was disappointed when it was not longer available to the public.
