Pay-Per-Ride Option Sold Out FAST For Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT

Today is the BIG day! The grand opening of EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has arrived!

This could be one of the most highly-anticipated rides to open at Disney World in a while, and if you’re wanting to grab a ride on it during your next trip, you’ll have to act fast — the paid option to access the ride’s Lightning Lane is already gone for the day!

There are currently only two ways to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The first is by securing a Boarding Group for the virtual queue, which must be obtained via the My Disney Experience app, either at 7AM or 1PM. As we’ve already seen, those go fast — this morning the virtual queue filled up within seconds after 7AM so anyone who wasn’t able to grab a spot will need to try again at 1PM.

If you’d prefer to take the luck (and stress) out of the equation, the other way to get a ride on this new attraction is by purchasing an Individual Attraction Selection through Disney Genie. However, those can go fast, too.

We kept a close eye on the Lightning Lane sales for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind this morning and noticed that they had sold out at 7:20AM. This was a little longer than we expected for opening day (we’ve seen Rise of the Resistance sell out WAY faster on select days), but it was well before the park opened meaning that only guests who were staying at a Disney World Resort hotel could secure a spot. All other guests have to wait until park opening to book any Individual Attraction Selections.

Note that this ride does not currently have a standby time, so if you don’t get a boarding group or grab an Individual Attraction Selection (which costs $17 per person), there is no other way to ride it at this time.
