We’re just a few short weeks away from an invasion of EPCOT!

On May 27th, 2022, the Guardians of the Galaxy will officially make their debut in Disney World, with the brand new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster! Ahead of its opening, we’ve gotten a sneak peek at merchandise, inside the ride, as well as more details on the storyline. And now, Disney has released information on how guests will be able to access the ride!
Alongside the announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be available as a paid Individual Attraction Selection through Disney Genie+, Disney has also shared that the ride will use a virtual queue when it opens later this month.

Through an update on the ride page on Disney World’s website, Disney has shared that guests will have the opportunity to join a virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app. The queue will have limited availability, and just like we’ve seen with past rides using the virtual queue, guests are not guaranteed a boarding group. This also means that the ride will not use a Standby option when it initially opens.

In the past, we’ve seen new, popular rides use the virtual queue option such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT, and Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Currently, both are available through both Standby options and a paid Lightning Lane entry through Disney Genie+.

Ugh! I hat virtual queues. At least you’ll be able to but individual LL, which I am sure exactly what Chapek wants you to do!
