We can’t remember the last time there was so much hype surrounding a new ride at Disney World.
But Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind isn’t just any ordinary ride. It’s the first Marvel-inspired ride in Disney World, and it’s a thrilling roller coaster ride with a reverse launch — the first of its kind at a Disney Park. There are only few ways to ride it, though, and one of those ways was gone FAST this morning.
Each day, guests with a valid ticket and park pass reservation for EPCOT will be able to try to grab a boarding group at 7AM and 1PM — note that guests can be anywhere to grab a boarding group at 7AM, but must be physically scanned into EPCOT to grab a boarding group at 1PM.
So how fast did those boarding groups go on the ride’s opening day? Well, at the 7AM drop, boarding groups were gone in less than a minute. Right after we were able to join the queue, the clock still read 7AM and the virtual queue was filled, listing 1PM as the next enrollment opportunity!
If you didn’t manage to get a boarding group, though, you can still try to get access to the ride’s Lightning Lane through a paid Individual Attraction Selection through Disney Genie. But those sold out pretty quickly this morning as well! Note that for the time being, there will be no standby line for the attraction available.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the new attraction and will update this post with the results of the 1PM virtual queue, so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
