PHOTOS & VIDEO: Two Fan-Favorite Attractions Went DOWN in Disney World Today

We’ve got some bad news for our cowboys and cowgirls looking for a little western fun in Disney World. Every once in a while, a Disney attraction will break down. Sometimes, the closure only lasts for a few hours. Other times, the problem is more serious and will take longer to fix. (Looking at you, “it’s a small world”)

We moseyed over to Frontierland today to see what was new, but were surprised to see a ghost town!

We spoke with a Cast Member about this unfortunate double attraction closure, and they told us that Big Thunder Mountain would only be temporarily closed. Luckily, it’s already open again! Splash Mountain, on the other hand, “is a long ways away from opening.”

Cast Members did not reveal the reason for Big Thunder’s temporary closure, but we’re happy to see the attraction back up and running! Splash Mountain has also had its fair share of problems lately, it was closed last week, too!

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the Splash Mountain situation to see what happens! In the meantime, stay tuned for more Disney news and updates! Fingers crossed for ya, Frontierland!
