Whether it’s an attraction being refurbished, a shop getting some TLC, or some other project, there’s almost always some sort of construction going on around Disney World.

That’s why we keep you up to date on all those closures here at AllEars so that you know what to expect when you’re visiting the parks. And, today we’re bringing you a look at everything that will be CLOSED from December 13th to 19th, 2021 — let’s get to it!
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad is a fan-favorite attraction in Magic Kingdom, but it has been closed for 3 years now and that closure is set to extend through next week as well.

The ride has been undergoing some refurbishment while a portion of the track in Tomorrowland is blocked by construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run. The train still can’t run through there just yet, but there has reportedly been some testing going on. So, you might see it running when you’re in the park, though it won’t be taking guests along for the ride.

EPCOT Refurbishments
Souk-Al-Magreb
Over at EPCOT, a large portion of the front of the park remains closed as construction continues on the EPCOT Transformation. But, one closure will also impact a small shop back in World Showcase — Souk-al-Magreb.

The shop originally closed earlier this fall for a short refurbishment, though this has since been extended through February 6th, 2022. So, it will be some time before you can get your shopping in here.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Refurbishments
Kali River Rapids
And, if you’re looking to cool off from the Florida heat in the middle of the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll have to opt for some ice cream instead of a water ride because Kali River Rapids will be closed for a portion of the week as its refurbishment wraps up.

Disney’s calendar currently lists the attraction as reopening on Thursday, December 16th though. So, if you’re visiting later in the week you’ll be able to ride it once again!
Well, that’s a wrap on this week’s refurbishment update! We’ll continue to keep an eye out for all the latest updates and closures, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
