PHOTOS & VIDEO: Splash Mountain Evacuated in Disney World Today

Is Splash Mountain a must-do ride for you when you’re visiting Magic Kingdom?

Splash Mountain

This fan-favorite ride attracts a lot of park-goers throughout the day (even when it’s cold), but there can be technical difficulties from time to time that cause the ride to go down. Recently, we saw a closure that lasted almost the entire day and it seems that guests visiting the park today may have to go without riding the attraction as well.

This morning, we noticed that Splash Mountain was showing as “Temporarily Closed” in the My Disney Experience app, so we made our way over to Frontierland to see what was happening.

When we got there, we could see that the ride wasn’t operating and, instead, Cast Members were at one of the boats along the river preparing to evacuate guests.

It only took a few minutes for guests to be evacuated out of the boats…

…and then they had a short walk down to the exit.

It’s unclear what caused Splash Mountain to go down or how long the closure will last, but be sure to check your My Disney Experience app for the latest updates if you’re visiting the park today.
