Why You Might be Tempted to Leave Disney World For a Taco

There is already so much good food in the Disney World parks, but you still can’t miss some amazing restaurants over in Disney Springs.

And if you STILL can’t find somewhere tasty to dine there, you can venture out into Orlando to get even more options. Soon, you’ll be able to visit a super popular taco chain that’s coming to Orlando all the way from Austin, Texas.

Torchy’s Tacos is a chain restaurant that serves “a variety of tacos — including breakfast tacos — as well as burritos, salads, chips, guacamole, salsa and queso” (Orlando Business Journal).

The Orlando Business Journal reported that Torchy’s is opening not one but TWO locations in Orlando in 2022. One location (opening in late 2022) will be very close to Disney World at the Vineland Pointe development. In fact, this development is only about a 15 minute drive from the entrance of Disney World.

The second Torchy’s location will be at 805 Richbee Drive in Altamonte Springs, and it’ll open next summer.

These will be the first two Torchy’s locations in Orlando, and we could not be more excited for them! We’ve had Torchy’s tacos before (in Texas), and y’all. You need to try them. We will be seriously tempted to leave Disney World for a taco once in a while when these restaurants open next year.

  1. I always leave WDW to eat. I would check out Portillo’s. Great food out of Chicago. There are tons of places to eat near WDW and it will be cheaper than the park prices.
