My Disney Experience Adds Disney+ Subscription Status to Accounts

Earlier today, we learned that Disney+ subscribers would get an added perk on Friday, November 12th — also known as Disney+ Day — when visiting the theme parks!

Early Theme Park Entry

Subscribers visiting Disney World or Disneyland on the streaming service’s second anniversary will be able to enter the theme park of their choice thirty minutes prior to the posted park opening time!

This can give Disney+ subscribers a head start on those popular rides and attractions first thing in the morning. But how would one verify their subscription at the park entrance?

A new update on My Disney Experience and the Disneyland App now lists your Disney+ subscriber status under Memberships and Passes. To find this screen, head to your account in the app, tap on “My Profile,” then tap on “Memberships & Passes.” It looks like this could be how Disney will verify subscription statuses in order to be eligible for all of the neat perks this Friday.

A new subscription status appears on My Disney Experience!

It appears that this status only shows up on the main Disney+ account holder — so say for example you watch Disney+ using your sibling’s subscription; it appears that the Disney+ Subscriber status would only show up on their account, since they are the main subscriber.

  1. Yep, my husband is the one who signed up our family for Disney+ so it doesn’t show up on my profile. If there’s future perks involved, that’ll be an issue.

  2. This sounds like an attempt to get more subscribers. I am sure that Disney+ is having problems with “subscriber churn”. There is only so much media that can be consumed.

    1. The Walt Disney Company reported that Disney+ had 116 million subscribers worldwide as of its third quarter of 2021. This marks a growth in the service’s subscriber base of around 90 million since the start of the fiscal year of 2020. The service launched in November 2019 and by the company’s first fiscal quarter of 2020 had already amassed more than 26.5 million subscribers. I think they are doing OK. 🙂

    2. It likely is as it certainly is much cheaper for a month of Disney+ than 1 night at Disney’s cheapest resort! But, honestly, there is probably a lot of overlap between subscribers and Disney Parks fans.

Bottom line, Friday morning is going to be BUSY at all parks!
