Happy Halloween from Disneyland! You may be thinking that it isn’t even October yet, why are we saying Happy Halloween? Well, Halloween has officially arrived at Disneyland, and Oogie Boogie Bash has officially begun.

If you are headed to Disneyland Resort for the Halloween season, you may be wondering if the Oogie Boogie Bash is worth the price. We are here to help you answer that question and decide if you should purchase tickets for this special event!
Oogie Boogie Bash takes place on select nights from August 17th through October 31st and runs from 6 PM until 11 PM each night. However, your party ticket allows you to get in as early as 3 PM, so you have even more time to enjoy Disney California Adventure Park. Tickets start at $139 per person and go up to $199 per person. Which begs the question, is Oogie Boogie worth the price? It really all depends on what you hope to get out of the event, so let’s talk about everything you can do at Oogie Boogie Bash!

Trick or Treating
First of all, you can go trick-or-treating on the Immersive Treat Trails. You can grab handfuls of M&M’S®, SKITTLES®, SNICKERS®, and other favorites as you travel through the trails. While you are grabbing your candy, you can groove to Halloween music, and you might even come across the Disney Villains themselves!

This is a fantastic way to see and interact with some rare Villains that we sometimes only get to see at Halloween. There is no limit to the number of times you can go through the Treat Trails, so you can grab as much candy as your heart desires!

This year, there’s a new Villain on the treat trails — Syndrome from The Incredibles! Maleficent has also made her return, and interactions with her are fantastic.

The treat trails are one of the most popular parts of the event, so prepare for lines to be long! We feel they’re worth it, for both the characters AND the candy, but you’ll want to plan ahead and make a list of which ones are at the top of your list.
Entertainment
You can check out the Frightfully Fun Parade, which features characters like Ichabod Crane, the Headless Horseman, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Jack Skellington, Lady Tremaine, the Red Queen, and so many more.

If you are looking for more villainous fun, stop by Villains Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail! Disney Villains have passed through before you and turned this trail into a spooky, mystical realm. You can explore areas like:
- Frollo’s Sanctuary
- Maleficent’s Will
- Queen of Hearts Garden

- Scar’s Elephant Graveyard
- Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side
- The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest
- Home of the Wisps
- Dawn

Select attractions in Disney California Adventure are also open during this event and you can enjoy lower wait times for the attractions! Plus, you can also enjoy some attractions with a Halloween overlay:
- Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree
- Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark

Character Meet and Greets
The party also features the opportunity to meet lots of rare characters. You never know who you might spot! Here’s who you can find this year:
- Kingdom Hearts Mickey and Donald

- Kingdom Hearts Goofy

- Agatha Harkness

- Oogie Boogie

- Maleficent

- Syndrome

- Dr. Doofenshmirtz

- Hades

- Ernesto de la Cruz

Some of the characters you will spot on the treat trails and others you will find throughout the park. You’ll want to keep your eyes peeled, because they can pop up where you least expect!
Photo Opportunities
There are lots of exclusive Oogie Boogie Bash photo opportunities through Disney California Adventure. Your party ticket also includes all your Disney PhotoPass photos from the night!

This means that your ride photos, character photos, and photos from any PhotoPass photographers you visit are free to download. Take all the photos and leave with a great memento of the night!
Specialty Food
You can find a variety of specialty food and drink throughout the party. These items are an additional cost, though, they are not included in the price of the tickets.

However, there are some really fun and tasty options that you won’t be able to grab at any other time! This year, the new exclusive dining options are the Chili-Cheese Fries over at Award Wieners and the Ube Hot Chocolate with Vanilla Vodka at the Cozy Cone Motel.

The dining options are a lot of people’s favorite part of the event. Our number one suggestion though? Not all restaurants stay open throughout the event, so eat a full meal before the party officially begins to fuel you throughout the night!
Merchandise
In addition to exclusive food and drink, you can also purchase Oogie Boogie Bash exclusive merchandise.

These items are ONLY available during the party, and there are so many different options. You’ve got Spirit Jersey, zip-up jackets, shirts, pins, and so much more. If you’re a big fan of exclusive merchandise, this may be another reason to grab a ticket to the event.

So, is Oogie Boogie Bash worth the price? It all depends, and there isn’t one definitive answer. Consider what you and your family enjoy doing and what you would hope to get out of the party. Then consider the price and whether you feel like your family would be getting your money’s worth!

For our reporter, she felt that the event was absolutely worth the cost. There was so much to do, so many characters to meet and entertainment to see, she felt the cost of the ticket reflected the offerings available. In fact, there’s so much to do you really need to create a must-do list with your top priorities. We recommend either focusing on treat trails/characters or everything else, because there’s no way to do everything in one night.

It was really busy on the night we went, so we’re hoping the lines will calm down just a little bit when it’s not opening night, and that’ll make the ticket price even more worth it. However, if you’re not into meeting characters, you don’t eat candy, or you’re not a big fan of the Halloween season as a whole, this event may not be for you.
