If you’ve been to Disney World in the past year or two, then you likely know that EPCOT is currently undergoing a MASSIVE transformation!
The park is getting a top-to-bottom overhaul with new rides and attractions, new branding, and a completely reimagined Future World. Over the next few years, we’ll see the park split into four “neighborhoods” and several exciting additions like Moana — Journey of Water, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Part of these changes have included updates to the park’s main entrance, and today we’re seeing more of those updates in place!
Announced this morning on Instagram, Imagineer Zach Riddley (@thezachriddley) shared that there are some brand new features at the EPCOT entrance starting today! First of all, 12 flags based on the park’s pavilion icons have been raised up and now add some extra color.
Besides the flags, the entrance area has also received a new soundtrack. On our way to the Flower & Garden Festival this morning, we stopped by to take a listen!

Also, tonight we’ll be able to check out a color-coordinated light ribbon around the rim of the plaza. It will go along with the recently revealed fountain lighting to really illuminate the area.
We’ll make sure to update you this evening when we get to see the new lighting in action, and we’ll be on the lookout for any more additions at the EPCOT entrance. In the meantime, stay tuned with us today as we explore the opening day of the Flower & Garden festival and bring you all the news!
