Come Ride Disney World’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets With Us for the FIRST TIME!

It’s finally happening! The Muppets have taken over Rock ‘n ‘ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for their first-ever thrill ride. Disney has already teased a LOT about the ride, including its pre-show, queue details, music, and more.

However, we just got to ride the roller coaster EARLY, and we are going to share everything about our experience with you. So…are you ready to rock?

So the experience starts when you walk down Sunset Boulevard to the main entrance of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Now you’ve already seen the new G-Force Records entrance with the brightly painted car, but this is where the whole Muppets vibe begins.

Then you approach the ride itself, where you’ll find the giant guitar out front has been repainted with a similar vibrant Electric Mayhem-inspired vibe.

Woohoo!

We noticed that the music has been updated in this area. We heard Pink, Radiohead, Tom Petty, Blondie, and — of course — the Electric Mayhem. The building also has some new signs up, including the ride poster…and a single rider sign.

The outdoor queue

We also saw new signs posted in the area, including a single rider sign (although it’s partially hidden behind some bushes). So it seems like the ride will have the single rider option.

Then you get to the pre-show. Disney has already revealed a video with much of the pre-show, but it features Electric Mayhem recording in the studio, with penguins as engineers. A Scooter animatronic is there, too, and he’s starting to freak out about getting the band to their big show on time.

So you then make your way through the queue. Keep an eye out for fun Muppets details.

Hmmm, that looks familiar

There’s even a section devoted to The Great Gonzo.

All for Gonzo

You’ll also find a lot of Muppets memorabilia, including costumes, props, and more.

This is from earlier in the queue!

Then you get to the ride loading area. The area has been redesigned to look like Muppet Mobile Labs.

The ride vehicles have also been given a colorful makeover. They’re still silver on top, but they’ve got the colorful, swirly design on the bottom. The back car, though, is the coolest because it’s been almost entirely repainted.

The new paint

If you manage to get in the front row, you’ll see blueprints for L.I.M.O. that say: “make it a stretch, make it a super stretch,” a reference to the previous Aerosmith ride.

Don’t forget to secure your belongings

Then we hopped on, and we were off! The ride is mostly the same as when it was Aerosmith-themed, but it’s got a lot of Muppet twists. For example, the part that used to say “Corkscrew Ahead” now says “Obligatory Corkscrew.” You’ll find that kind of Muppets humor throughout. Also, we caught a lot of Muppets history references, including Muppet*Vision 3D Easter eggs (which we were grateful to see.

PizzeRizzo!

For example, there was a Miss Piggy record that featured a “huge, show-stopping, major song.” Kermit also reminds the band that they have “a minute and a half” before the show. We also noticed some Aerosmith references.

The preshow

You’ll get a random song from the possible songs, so the one we got was Rock! Rock! (To The Top!) by Def Leppard. At the end, you breeze by Statler and Waldorf, so you barely see them, but their insults follow you as you’re exiting the vehicle.

Unloading area

When you arrive in the area where your ride photos are displayed, it’s designed to look like you’re watching the concert you just rushed Electric Mayhem, too. So the storyline carries on into this section.

We had so much fun riding Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and we can’t wait for everyone else to get to ride it, too, when it opens on May 26th. We’ll be in Hollywood Studios on that day, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
