Takumi-Tei just made it way easier to get a reservation.

According to the Disney World website, the popular EPCOT restaurant is expanding its hours soon, and if you’ve ever found yourself trying to snag a reservation and couldn’t…this could be just the update you’ve been waiting for! Here’s why this small change is actually a big deal.
If you’ve been dreaming of a high-end dinner at EPCOT’s Takumi-Tei, here’s some news that might make your planning a little easier!

Beginning in March, the signature dining restaurant in the Japan Pavilion will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (at least through March 21st, according to Disney World’s website), adding to the days it’s already been operating and giving us more opportunities to experience this elegant omakase-style dinner. Previously, Takumi-Tei was only open later in the week (typically Thursday through Monday), meaning Tuesdays and Wednesdays were blank spots on the calendar for fine-dining fans.

However, when we recently checked out Disney’s website for the restaurant’s dates and hours, in anticipation of spring crowds rolling in, we were glad to find this quiet update. While we’re seeing this change through March 23rd (that’s as far as the calendar goes out right now), it might not be a permanent one. Disney World restaurants are known to keep operational hours subject to change at any time, and it could be an option opened in anticipation of higher crowds during the spring break season.

Takumi-Tei (which means “house of the artisan”) is one of Disney World’s standout culinary experiences. With immersive theming that honors traditional Japanese artistry and seasonal and multi-course omakase tasting menus, this is the kind of dinner reservation many EPCOT visitors build an evening around. The restaurant is known for its peaceful atmosphere, with multiple dining rooms inspired by natural elements and a dress code that leans elegant yet relaxed, befitting its fine-dining status. At its core, Takumi-Tei offers prix-fixe experiences that often center around fresh sashimi, delicate preparations of seafood and wagyu, and beautifully presented seasonal creations that change with the seasons.

The expanded weekly availability makes it easier for more hungry travelers to snag reservations, which is a notable improvement given how quickly tables at Takumi-Tei tend to fill! Whether you’re visiting for a special occasion or just want to savor a memorable meal during your EPCOT day, having more dining date options on the menu opens up more flexibility for your trip.

As always, advance reservations are recommended (and often necessary) due to Takumi-Tei’s popularity and limited seating. And if you’ve been hoping to try one of Disney World’s most talked-about signature meals, this expanded schedule might make March the perfect time to plan your visit!
