Ever since the reveal of the newest tea experience coming BACK to Disney in a beloved (yet revised) Disney World hotel restaurant, there’s been one burning question on everyone’s mind — “How much will it cost?” Disney’s released pricing for the refurbished Garden View Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and now we can confirm it’s shaping up to be one of the hotel’s most elegant (and premium) dining offerings. Here’s what’s included and how it compares to other iconic Disney splurges.

Disney World has officially released pricing for the highly anticipated reopening of the Garden View Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and the numbers are out just in time for spring planning. This elegant afternoon tea experience — which refurbished and underwent a glow up inside the space that was previously known as the Garden View Tea Room — will be priced at $79 per adult and $49 per child when it opens on March 19th. While the cost might make some folks do a double take, it puts the Garden View Lounge squarely in the realm of special occasion dining at Walt Disney World.

At its core, the new Garden View Lounge tea experience blends classic afternoon tea traditions with whimsical Disney storytelling. When dining here, you can expect a multi-course tea service that includes premium Twinings loose-leaf teas, delicate finger sandwiches, scones with accompaniments, and seasonally inspired desserts, all presented in an elegant, tranquil setting that complements the Grand Floridian’s refined Victorian aesthetic. There are even tea-based specialty cocktails and kid-friendly versions of the experience, adding layers of value for many visitors.

While $79 might feel like a premium price (that stings a bit when you say it out loud), it’s not out of line with other high-end Disney dining experiences — and in context, it might actually feel like a relative bargain for what you’re getting. Take Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom, for example. A character meal inside Cinderella Castle with prix-fixe food and princess interactions will often run you $76 per adult and $47 per kid for Breakfast while Lunch and Dinner while have you forking out a whopping $89 per adult and $54 per kid (and that’s before any add-on offerings), yet many folks happily book months in advance for the experience alone. What you’re paying for there is location and exclusivity, dining inside one of the most iconic spaces in all of Disney.

On the other hand, experiences like the afternoon tea at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers (at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort) land in a similar ballpark. This tea service (which is less about Disney storytelling and more about decadent desserts and creative sweet courses) typically starts around $95 per adult and $65 per child, with optional add-ons for champagne or specialty treats. The Garden View Lounge’s pricing sits slightly below that range, but with the added benefit of being tied into the Grand Floridian’s ambiance, and offering a themed experience that feels more destination than dessert stop.

It’s worth noting that, like most Disney dining experiences, reservations will be essential and likely competitive, especially for peak times, holiday seasons, and weekends. Given the limited seating and high anticipation for the reopening, snagging a reservation sooner rather than later is a smart move if this is on your Disney wish list!

At the end of the day, whether $79 feels “worth it” will come down to how you value experience over expense. For fans of elegant dining, Disney theming, and unique culinary adventures, the Garden View Lounge tea experience promises to be a memorable addition, and one that fits comfortably among other tried-and-true Disney splurges like Cinderella’s Royal Table and upscale afternoon teas.

  1. I would have to see what exactly you get for this $79…IF you get only a couple of tea sandwiches, and a couple of cute desserts….and Twinings loose tea, which you can buy in Publix, then no, I wouldn’t think it would be. I will have to wait and see more information.

  2. I did this back in 2014 and OMG was it worthwhile. My party actually wore fancy dress clothes to go, and we were very well received by the staff and treated like royalty. Unfortunately I won’t be going to Florida this year (it’s an Anaheim year for me), but I will definitely be reserving a spot in 2027.
