Disney World Just Made a Big Change to Muppet*Vision 3D

Muppets Courtyard is CLOSED in Disney World, and many Disney Adults are mourning its loss!

The land closed back in June to make way for the upcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed land that will take its place. We were sad to say goodbye to PizzeRizzo, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, and especially Muppet*Vision 3D, but there’s a lot to come in the future. And Disney just hit a big construction milestone with the removal of an old attraction sign.

The iconic marquee sign that used to welcome guests into Muppet*Vision 3D has been covered up by black tarps, to be seen no longer! It was one of the last remaining nods to the attraction left on that building.

The banners on either side of the old sign are gone, so the remaining whimsical detail is the colored shutters on the brick facade. With the construction walls surrounding the courtyard, it’s difficult to see much except for the tops of the buildings.

We’ll be interested to see what other changes come to this area as Disney revamps it. The new land is going to have new dining, as well as a flying door-themed Monsters, Inc. roller coaster.
