A Disney Visa cardholder perk is CHANGING!

Major change is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and soon, the park we know and love will have a completely different look. Disney already announced plans for an overhaul of the Animation Courtyard area, which will include new experiences, but there’s one particular offering hiding in the back that nobody seems to be talking about.
Since its debut, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has already seen some major changes, including an entire park name change. While it’s ebbed and flowed with the times over the decades, the park is gearing up for even MORE big changes on the horizon.

Disney recently announced that the current Animation Courtyard area of the park will be closing to be re-envisioned as The Walt Disney Studios area of the park. This newly revised section will include a new playground for younger kids, the return of animation classes you’ll be able to sit in on, and even more unique meet and greet opportunities.

However, in order for this overhaul to truly encompass this area, this also means that the Star Wars Launch Bay (which has existed for several years now) will also be closing soon. This building housed several meet and greets with Star Wars characters, movie memorabilia, scenes to take your own photos, and even a hidden photo op!

Yes, this is where Disney Visa cardholders could experience an exclusive Star Wars Photo Opportunity with some of the most notable Star Wars characters. In order to be eligible for the experience, you would need to provide your valid Disney Visa card at the entrance of the queue line along with the rest of the members of your party. To make way for the upcoming closure of Star Wars Launch Bay, this offering will no longer be available beginning September 25th.

However, that doesn’t appear to be the complete end of this Disney Visa cardholder perk! More details on a new photo experience are expected to be released soon. While we don’t have any further details other than confirmation that a replacement experience is planned, Disney states that you’ll want to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app for more information as it’s made available.

We sure hope this means that Disney Visa cardholders will be able to continue to enjoy this experience in another location soon, and we wonder if there will be another experience to debut within the newly updated area of the park when Walt Disney Studios at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is complete.
