We’ve been watching the construction progress in EPCOT for quite some time now, as the park goes through a MASSIVE transformation!

If you haven’t been to EPCOT in a few years, the entire middle of the park is covered in construction walls currently, as new additions are made to the World Celebration and World Nature sections of the park. One of those additions is Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, and today, we noticed a BIG construction change!
When we walked into EPCOT this morning, we spotted something new — Te Fiti has arrived at Journey of Water! It’s a gigantic sculpture of the character from Moana, all covered in foliage.

We previously saw what this statue would look like at the D23 Expo in September when we saw a scale model version. It looks like it’s going to be very detailed when completed!

We took a ride on the monorail to get an aerial view as well. It’s located on the further side of the attraction, opposite from where the mountain with the Te Fiti symbol is.

It looks like the Imagineers and construction workers have been making other progress on the attraction as well! More of the pathway is marked out at this point. This will be a walk-through attraction where guests can interact with water.

And speaking of Imagineering, they shared a photo of Te Fiti on Instagram, in case you’re interested in an up-close look!
It’s definitely an incredible piece of Imagineering, and we can’t wait to see what it looks like with the rest of the attraction. They’re making some serious progress!
